Privacy
What we keep about your request, what we publish, and how to change your mind.
What we keep
- Your request: your RV, the part, any numbers, photos and preferences you send, and your serial or VIN if you give it. Photos are shrunk and their location data removed before upload.
- How to reach you: your email if you give one, and, if you turn on notifications, a notification link your browser creates for this request, used only to send you updates about it. Turning notifications off deletes it. If your browser stops accepting notifications, we delete the link the next time we try to send one.
- Your answers on the "did you get the part?" form: which lead you used, what you paid, how long it took, and whether it fit.
- Spam and abuse checks: Cloudflare Turnstile checks each form, and we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your connection's address to limit how often a form can be sent.
We use this only to research your part and tell you what we found. We use AI tools to help research, and a person reviews every result before you see it. We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing.
What we publish
Researched parts get a public part page. It's about the part, never about you: we never publish your name, email, serial or VIN, location, or your request.
- Prices and lead times, only if you agree. If you tick "OK to publish the price and lead time I report" on the request or outcome form, or tell us so by email, a part page may show the price, lead time and seller you reported and the month you reported it, labelled "owner-reported". Nothing else about you or your request is shown with it. The box is unticked unless you tick it.
- Photos, only if you agree. We show your photos on a public page only if you ticked "You may show my photos".
Changing your mind
Use the buttons on your private status page (only someone with your status link can use them), or email us from the address you gave. They let you stop publishing your price and lead time, or delete your request. We don't act on the contact form alone, because it can't show that the request is yours.
- Stop publishing my price and lead time: we stop using your figures, and the next update of each part page that shows them takes them off.
- Delete my request: your request is removed with its photos, your answers, the updates on your status page and our research drafts, and it's unlinked from part pages. Your figures come off those pages at their next update.
- We keep earlier versions of part pages as a record of what was published. A version that still has your figures can't be published again after you stop publishing them or delete your request.
We don't remove part pages themselves; they describe parts, not people.
